Never one to shy away from a race or getting younger generations interested in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Maths) – OPM Group have sponsored Blue Mercury Racing team at Kimbolton School with their entry into F1 In Schools. The F1 In Schools initiative was set up in 1999. Its main aim is to offer students aged 9 – 19 an exciting insight into the world of engineering. Challenging them to use their STEM skills to build a car worthy of 1st place. The students are tasked with not only designing and making their own miniature car, but they must also, test, analyse, market, and fundraise for their team.

The Blue Mercury team is made up of Project Manager – Lili, Designer – Robyn, Tech Gurus – Miles and Vukašin and finally the strategy wizards Harry and Jack. OPM’s sponsorship and provision of labels with the team’s logo on have allowed them to customise their merchandise and raise team spirit. We printed a reel of labels using our Domino UV Ink Jet Digital press on PP white with a flooded gloss varnish to make sure they really stand out!

Blue Mercury will be taking part in the East Anglia Regional finals in February.
