We caught up with Paul Smith, our Value Stream manager to find out how he is settling into his new role and finding his time with OPM Group.
” I am really enjoying my new role at OPM (Labels and Packaging) Group since joining a month ago.
It’s an exciting place to be with brand new presses and finishing equipment, a strong technical team working on R&D projects and an engaged Sales and Customer services team. OPM (Labels and Packaging) Group feel like finally their wings don’t have to feel clipped, by ever changing challenges but know the way forward is to meet all future changes head on.
In my new role I have taken on the responsibilities for making change happen – lean changes for space, time and energies. I am also looking to create the talented workforce for today and the future. I will be looking to do this through training, developing and fostering a strong team culture here at OPM. I will be looking to grow new teams through recruitment.

I have also engaged with the BPIF – The Trade Association at the Heart of British Print to develop an ongoing apprenticeship program with the structure of our in-house training academy and recognised accreditations. We are working closely with colleges and schools also to develop younger interest in print.
