OPM Group were pleased to welcome Gary Giles from The Printing Charity to our Leeds site on Wednesday, 3rd and Wednesday, 10th June as part of their UK roadshow, giving our teams the opportunity to learn more about the valuable support they provide to individuals and families within the print industry.
Gary began his visit with a meeting with directors and key personnel, providing valuable insight into the charity’s work and how it directly benefits the OPM team. The session gave us the opportunity to ask questions, deepen our understanding, and explore ways to make this support more visible and accessible to colleagues across OPM.
This was followed by a shop floor tour featuring discussions with production manager Aidey and an introduction to the staff on shift. Gary then hosted an open drop‑in session in our dedicated training room. This allowed the team to pick up leaflets and learn more about the services The Printing Charity can provide.
These sessions provided a great insight into the variety of services available, including:
- Emotional well-being support via their free, confidential helpline
- Practical advice and support
- Financial advice & support
- Career development
- Wellbeing Community Hub
- and The Rising Star Awards
The Printing Charity offers comprehensive assistance tailored to individuals working within the print industry. Importantly, this support extends beyond employees themselves, with services available to anyone aged 16 and over within their household, ensuring wider access to help when it’s needed most.
We’d like to extend our thanks to Gary for taking the time to visit our site and engage with the team.
We’re proud to partner with a charity that truly understands and supports the people behind the print industry.
