Flexible Packaging

Laminated Films

laminated_films

OPM Group offers a wide range of laminates for flexible packaging applications to deliver optimal performance and choice for our brand partners.

So why choose a laminate material? Laminates provide additional strength and barrier properties, while also boosting print clarity and eliminating scuff. Laminate substrates can also be specified with peelable webs for an improved consumer opening experience.

Each specific material and formulation has its own unique barrier properties – which means there’s an ideal combination for any packaging application.

Our purpose-built site follows hazard analysis critical control points (HACCP) and is BRC IOP (CAT 1) approved, recognising high-risk product accreditation, allowing OPM Group to supply a wide range of manufacturers in various market sectors.

Laminate films are particularly useful for bakery products, biscuits, coffee, confectionery, dairy, detergents, frozen foods, medical, pastry, pet food and snack foods.

How do I choose the right film for my packaging application?

For brands, there can seem like a lot of options when choosing a laminated packaging substrate. However, at OPM Group, we believe packaging excellence can be made simple.

When deciding which laminated film is correct for your application, here are key questions for product designers and procurement teams to ask:

What kind of climate does our product need in storage and transit? Most films control moisture well, but oxygen transmission levels can vary.
How long does this climate need to be maintained? There’s no reason to use the most effective film if you only need to maintain a controlled atmosphere for a few days, but long-term storage demands better barrier properties to protect the contents inside.

Do we need to make visual inspections of products inside the packaging – or make the film translucent?
Film substrates can vary greatly in clarity and colour; some are completely opaque.

Does our packaging need to be cost-engineered?

OPM Group can source materials to suit your budget whilst maintaining quality and ensuring it is still fit for purpose. Whatever your requirement, our experienced team can help. Simply call us to discuss your requirements.
